Greetings in the Name of Jesus!

What an amazing weekend we just had with our CarePoint youth leaders – all 35 of them! The theme was all about encountering God, and that’s what we all did – in a real and impacting way. Each of the youth came up for prayer while confessing their sins, changing their ways, and asking for the Holy Spirit to come and fill them up and change them. They were shown just how great God is in their lives and how indescribable He is. It was a great time of ministry, fun, and especially relationship-building.

Youth leader Dolly from the Zombodze CarePoint experienced God in a whole new way, crying tears of joy after asking to receive and encounter God. Thengethile from Ngwane Park CarePoint also experienced God in a whole new way after encountering Him through prayer, confession, and repentance. One after another, each of the youth experienced God in a real and personal way.

Nthombenthle, a leader girl that Kay got to spend a lot of time with, had known Jesus for a while but was always timid and fearful in fully surrendering to Him in worship. But a few days after the retreat, she was sharing with Kay how she couldn’t stop praising the Lord and singing to Him all the time, raising her hands and dancing! And the biggest change is that she is now sharing Christ with others, wanting to share that joy and love that she experienced this past weekend with many of her friends. Praise the Lord! For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!

As for leadership development, the leaders were taught the basics to inductive Bible study methods, including making observations, interpretations, and applications from searching the Word of God. In addition to the ministry and teaching, they were also taught basics on presentation and public speaking skills. As leaders, they are expected to speak to groups of people, whether their peers or strangers. We taught them how to communicate effectively using the right words, tone of voice, and body language.

Our Zombodze teacher Ruth (also volunteer youth worker) had nothing but praise to say about this retreat. At first she thought she was going to help “baby-sit” the youth, but she was totally ministered to and built up. She is already putting into practice the art of hearing God through reading the Bible and was able to make some very tough decisions these past few days because of it.

This Encounter God retreat was a huge win for the Kingdom. We thank God for meeting with the youth as well as meeting with us. Please pray that the encounter these youth had with God this past weekend would continue to be a daily habit, training them to be godly examples of the faith by continuing in the Word of God. Thank you!

Thank you for your prayers and support, and may God bless you!

With much love,
