Short Version:
After graduating from Michigan State University in 2003, Mark had a heart for full-time ministry, but the dreaded student loans were holding him back. In 2004, Kay’s heart for missions had intensified while doing a year of discipleship training and missions school with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). This led to a four-week family mission trip to Swaziland Africa in the summer of 2005. Both Mark and Kay developed a compassion for the broken and needy children in Swaziland.
After getting married in the fall of 2005, Mark and Kay were determined to pay off all their debts and move to Swaziland. A three-week mission trip in January 2007 confirmed to both of their hearts that they were to serve the Lord in that place. With debts paid off, job resignations turned in, and plane tickets purchased, Mark and Kay landed in Swaziland on September 12, 2007. Through Children’s Cup, they are expressing the father heart of God to the orphaned and vulnerable children in the poorest and filthiest areas of Swaziland.

“Wisconsin Couple Moves to Africa for Mission”
Mark and Kay Bojovic, a young couple from Wisconsin, gave it all up – their home, their furniture, even her wedding ring – to move to a 3rd world country in 2007 to forcefully advance the Kingdom of God.
Mark and Kay visited the kingdom of Swaziland in January of 2007 to see what the needs were. Shortly after returning from their trip, they made up their minds to leave behind the comforts of their home for the uncertainty of foreign land. “Our hearts broke from what we saw. How their day-to-day life is. And how much need they have,” Mark said.
The organization called UNAIDS reports that the number of kids in Swaziland, Africa orphaned by AIDS has increased from 12,000 to 70,000 in less than a decade. The life expectancy is under 35.
Mark and Kay left their jobs and sold their possessions through online auctions and by word-of-mouth. Deciding to sell the wedding ring was tough, but they didn’t want to flaunt something that is years of income for the average Swazi. They are trying to show that an abundant life is possible without abundant finances.
Their mission: “We are not going to Swaziland to do handouts and show them how to live for a year and then leave them on their own, allowing them to return to their old ways. No. We are going over there to preach the Word of God – both in spoken word and by our actions – and that will transform their lives for eternity. We have no doubt about it,” Mark Bojovic said. “Our mission to Swaziland will be very much like a marathon. We’ll need the faith, training, perseverance, endurance, strength, hope, and love to carry on so that one day we may look back and say, ‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.’ (2 Tim 4:7)”
Mark and Kay have gone into full-time missions in Swaziland, Africa through Missions in Africa, Inc. Missions in Africa is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization started in 2006 by Kay’s parents, Randy and Karen Brennan.
While in Swaziland, Mark and Kay have partnered alongside with Children’s Cup International. Children’s Cup is a ministry that provides basic literacy education, food, and teachings about Jesus to orphaned and vulnerable children in the poorest and most neglected communities of Swaziland through Care Points. A Care Point is simply a plot of land with a two-classroom building that is strategically located near the neediest communities where poverty, prostitution, drugs, and survival are a normal way of life. On any given weekday, 4,000 children are positively affected directly through Children’s Cup, and that number is growing as word gets out and additional Care Points are built. With 30 percent of Swazi children having lost one or both parents due to AIDS, the neighborhood care points have become a real refuge.
Mark and Kay have been assigned a Care Point in the city of Logoba which they see to its success by pouring their lives into the children, caregivers, teachers, cooks, and the community. They will also help out with youth groups to the teenage population.
The couple doesn’t doubt their decision about selling everything and moving towards a greater cause. They know that the love of Jesus has changed their lives forever. The Swazi people need to know about that same love – that Jesus the Christ, the perfect Sacrifice, shed His blood for them, granting them access to our heavenly King, God Almighty.
